Liaison Committee on Medical Education Site Visit

When: Sunday, January 24, 2021 - Wed , January 27, 2021 (all day)
Where: TBD
Description: 8 am - 5 pm daily
The Liaison Committee on Medical Education, the U.S. Department of Education-recognized accrediting body for MD degree programs in the U.S., will conduct a regular, full site survey of Morehouse School of Medicine Jan. 24-27.

Why is it important?
For U.S. medical education programs, LCME accreditation establishes eligibility for selected federal grants and programs. Most state boards require that U.S. medical school graduates come from LCME-accredited institutions as a condition for licensure. LCME accreditation also is required for eligibility to take the U.S. Medical Licensing Examination and to participate in residency programs accredited by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education. Typically, LCME reviews occur every eight years.
